Mount Macedon Hotel
It was later renamed Waterfalls Hotel.
William Watson and his family lived in the original hotel building, where in his retirement he carved creations, known as Watson's Curiosities that were displayed in his front garden.
The Original building was lost in the 1983 fires.
By 1871, the name had again changed, this time to Oriental Hotel before a new building, also named Oriental Hotel was erected two doors to the south.
In 1931 the orignal Oriental Hotel was detroyed by fire that began in the kitchen and quickly spread throughout the whole building.
A new brick hotel was subsequently erected on the same site.
At times this hotel has been named Oriental Hotel and Growings Mount Macedon Hotel before reverting to its original name Mountain Inn in 1987.
